Mike
Rowe
Mike Rowe began his career in the country music
business at the early age of six. Born into a country music family,
his heritage including his Dad and Uncles known as the Seven Rowe
Brothers who were inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in
1987. Mike played and sang with his Dad, Guy Rowe, and his uncles and
was publicly acclaimed as one of the best talents and bass players in
he business. His Aunt Louise Rowe was the only female Texas Playboy
with Bob Wills in the early 50's. At age 16, Mike recorded his first
single. Since that time he has written and recorded many others
topping the charts with "I've got Lovin' on My Mind" and Loving You,
Loving You. His showmanship abilities have led him to open
concerts for such greats as Mo Bandy, Cal Smith, Faron Young and Margo
Smith. He has performed with the Maines Brothers in the studio.
His television performances include appearances with Pam Tillis,
Diamond Rio and Radney Foster. He has made many live
packed-house performances in Texas, Oklahoma, Colorado, Wyoming,
Nevada and Oregon. In 1999 Mike finished a Northern and Western
States tour ending with a six week show at Sam's Town in Las Vegas,
NV. In 2001 he met and married his wife, Janis. She encouraged
him to enroll in Amarillo College to take Radio Production Classes.
His first experience as a DJ was at KAVC, hosting his own Jazz show.
Mike moved on to KATV in Amarillo and then to his beloved mountains in
Ruidoso. KWES/KBUY became his home until he found the relaxed
atmosphere of Community Radio. Classic Country can be heard from 9am
til Noon each Saturday morning. Tune in to someone that both
