 Hi, I'm Bernie Hulme, your host for Just
Jazz.I have had an interest in jazz for over fifty years and have been collecting recordings for nearly as long. When I first heard about Community Radio coming to Ruidoso, I volunteered to do a jazz show and Just Jazz is the result. The show airs on Sundays at 8PM. Each week I select material from my own library, using a general theme for each show. Sometimes I focus on a particular style, a period, an instrument, type of ensemble or a particular performer. Here is an overview of what I have done so far: Program 1-3 An overview of Jazz - 1916-2002 Program 4 Lady Jazz Singers Program 5 Guitar Jazz Program 6 New Orleans Style Future shows will feature Christmas Jazz, Big Bands and Piano among other unique presentations. Our main idea is to review the major developments in Jazz by playing a wide variety of styles and performers. You can listen to jazz thru your ears, your feet or both! Any way you decide, its fun and that is our ultimate goal - to have fun. |
