(Ruidoso, NM) Did you ever wonder what happened to "Lucy & Ethel?" Well,
they are alive and well in Ruidoso, New Mexico, doing what they do best,
"just getting through the day." But, a day at "Lucy and Ethel's Internet
Cafe" is not just another day. No. It's much more delicious than that.
Let's start with their famous soups in a "Bread-Bowl." A daily line-up of
soups on the menu include: Lobster Basque, Broccoli-Cheddar, Green Chile
Stew, Italian Wedding Soup, plus winter favorites, like Chile con Carne and
Portabella-Brie - Merlot.
When you visit Lucy & Ethel's Internet Cafe, it is hard to get past the
initial part of this delicious menu. But if you do, you have to try the
Meatball Sub, Smoked Chicken Salad Croissant, or the Smoked Tuna Stuffed
Tomato. It's huge! There's more.. Try the classic and delicious French
Dip, Smoked Tuna Salad Croissant, Ham, Turkey Cheese Sub or the huge Monte
Cristo Sandwich. All
of the menu items are prepared fresh each day, and your sandwiches and lunch
specialties are prepared while you wait, inside or on the deck.
(There's
nothing like eating outdoors!)
Deserts: We saved the sweetest for last. It's hard to imagine
having enough room for desert, after enjoying a delicious lunch at Lucy &
Ethel's, but one must try.
With names like "Carmel Walnut Apple," "Carmel Pecan Peach," their pies are
sweet, rich and generous. Expect a surprise or two on the handwritten daily
menu, like "Pumpkin Apricot Cheesecake." This note will do no justice to the
dining experience at Lucy & Ethel's. You will have sample this experience for
yourself.
During the fall months, there is music on the deck Wednesday and Thursday.
Classic episodes of "I Love Lucy" are on all of the TV screens in the dining
room.
