Reynaldo Valcarcel
Morning Host - Operations Manager

Reynaldo is tireless volunteer at Community Radio. His business savvy and corporate experience brings depth, discovery, and reason to any discussion or topic aired on "The Morning Show." Reynaldo's candid observations help to bring clarity to a great many topics discussed in the Community. One listener described Reynaldo as having "a deep voice, but an even broader mind." We couldn't agree more.

Reynaldo has ran for public office in the past and served several years as a Commissioner on the Lincoln County Extraterritorial Zone (ETZ). Reynaldo retired from the corporate life in Southern California many years ago. He now owns and operates a successful data processing and communications business in Lincoln County.

Thought for Today:
"What is time? The shadow on the dial, the
striking of the clock, the running of the sand, day and night,
summer and winter, months, years, centuries -- these are but
arbitrary and outward signs, the measure of Time, not Time itself.
Time is the Life of the soul." -- Henry Wadsworth Longfellow,
American poet (1807-1882).

Friends Droppin' In
Ruidoso(KEDU) - The Lincoln County Cowboy Symposium brought a few friends by the KEDU Studios. Steve Mark, webmaster for the New York Sharks stopped by. Dakota & Sunny Livesay were in town for the Symposium. Dakota is the host of "Chronicle of the Old West."

Community Partners Needed:

(Ruidoso, NM) Eco Servants is a Community Service and Service Learning program that would direct our youth and community towards protecting, managing, and restoring natural resources. Eco-Servants is incorporated with the help of Alan P. Morel P.A and is working for tax-exempt status with the help of Phyllis Bewley CPA.  But they need additional partners in this ever important venture.

Eco Volunteers plans to pay for their operations with grants or contracts from private and government organizations. The money Eco-Servants receives will be placed in the community in the forms of buying equipment and paying local young people. It is our hope that these young people will spend the money locally.

Stephen Carter is a 1980 graduate of Ruidoso High School after returning from Kuwait and Singapore. He attended college at ENMU-Roswell from 2000 to 2003 towards a Human Service Associates and lacks 2 credits for his degree. He is a Substitute Teacher at our Ruidoso High School and Alternative School. He is also a waiter at Cafe Rio and has worked in Ruidoso for the last 10 years. Carter has also volunteered or organized others to contribute over 6500 hours to the Bureau of Land Management – Roswell Field office as a Cave and Recreation Technician through restoration, management, education, and protection of BLM lands.

Eco-Servants has recently started projects with the Ruidoso Urban Forestry Division, headed by forester Rick DeIaco, and the US Forest Service, supervised by Richard Carlson. The Eco Servants website is under construction...but keep checking!
